About Bill
Bill Emerson, Jr. is a professional civil engineer (P.E.), an attorney, and life-long Democrat. He was born and raised in Hammond and attended Eggers Middle School and then Bishop Noll for high school. Bill then went on to earn a B.S. in Civil Engineering at Purdue University – West Lafayette (Ranked No. 7 in the U.S. for Civil Engineering) and earned his law degree from Loyola University Chicago.
Bill worked as a civil engineer designing water delivery systems, evaluating watersheds, and supervising construction projects. After working as a civil engineer, Bill went to law school. Rather than practice in Chicago, he decided to come home to work in Lake County.

From a young age, Bill knew he wanted to enter public service and he loves Lake County, Indiana. As an attorney and civil engineer he is uniquely qualified to serve as the Lake County Surveyor.
