Bill was honored to receive an award from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management for Outstanding Management of the Lake County Stormwater System.
Bill has worked hard to optimize the county drainage budget by prioritizing drainage projects based on need and flood control, NOT POLITICAL FAVORITISM.
Bill has reduced the full time clerical staff through attrition. Rather than fill the position for his "personal assistant", he eliminated the position to save taxpayers money. He takes his own calls from constituents and sets his own appointments with residents.
Bill and his staff work hard to provide services to tax payers that were once farmed out to outside consultants, saving taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars every year.
As a civil engineer, Bill personally performs preliminary design work for drainage projects, saving the taxpayers money on outside consultant fees.
Bill has reorganized the office staff to better serve the public. The office now relies less on temporary part-time employees and the office’s experienced full-time staff now directly serve the public.
Bill has prioritized the office budget to cut part-time clerical staff so that additional funds can be used for the summer drainage crew. The summer drainage crew works to maintain our ditches and remove obstructions in county waterways to REDUCE FLOODING.
Bill has worked to organize and digitize office records and has developed an in-house drone inspection program with licensed drone pilot on staff.
